EPWGC Holiday Party

The EPWGC is having a Holiday Party on Tuesday, December 2nd at 1:00 p.m. at the Talon Grill, Eagle Point Golf Course.  In lieu of a gift exchange, please bring any new unwrapped items for donation to the Eagle Point Santa's Shop.  Less fortunate families from the city of Eagle Point get to shop for free for their loved ones.  Our club would like to help provide Happy Holidays to those less fortunate.

The lunch menu will be:

Honey Roasted Ham served with Creamy Scalloped Potatoes and Roasted Vegetables  $12.65 or

Pan Roasted Chicken Breast stuffed with Cremini Mushrooms and Gorgonzola Cheese served with Creamy Risotto and Roasted Vegetables  $13.80

GRATUITY INCLUDED IN MENU PRICES

New Photo Blog

We have begun a new blog to accommodate all the wonderful photos we are getting.  The new blog's name is www.epwgcphotos.blogspot.com.  We will be adding slide shows, photos of interest to our club, and even some fun "stuff".  Anyone who has something to share can email me jan.wheeler710@gmail.com.  Several of our members go south for the winter, others take trips, etc.  Just let me know if you have anything you want to add to the blog.  It doesn't necessarily have to be about golf - just something you may want to share.

As you know, we are included in the Eagle Point Golf Course's web site - so we will be getting a new link added for the photo blog.  Remember, an easy way to access all the news and links for our club is to go to the Eagle Point Golf Course's web site, go to Clubs, then Women's. 

Winter Points League

The Winter Points League has begun and we will play each Tuesday starting at 10:00 a.m. (this time may change later as the weather gets worse).   Remember, if you have a friend who would like to play, she does not have to be a member of the Women's Golf Club, but will need a GHIN.  This is a great way to introduce potential new members to our Club.  For info, call the Pro Shop 541-826-8225.

For the rest of the season, here are the upcoming events:

To finish September, we will play a 4 person best ball on 9/23; and No Putts on 9/30.

MAKE A NOTE:  BEGINNING 10/7 THE TEE CHANGES TO 10 A.M.

In October, we will play Ace of the Month on 10/7, Even Holes on 10/14, ACE OF YEAR on 10/21, and a Chapman on 10/28 (a 2 person team event, pick your team, 10 stroke differential).  Sadly, this will be the end of our season.

Our favorite Golf Shop Assistant Hunter DeLange has left us to go to golf school in Arizona.  He will be missed.  The EPWGC said goodbye on Tuesday, 8/19 with a cake and a gift.

Next event will be on 8/5 - Ace of the Month, followed by the famous Doris Grosch Scramble on 8/12, Beat the Pro on 8/19, and the big one of the year, the CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP on 8/26 and 9/2.  Be on the lookout for more info and mark your calendars.

SUMMER TOURNAMENT WINNERS

The champions of the Two Day Summer Tournament played on July 22 and 29 were Joan Clark and Vicki Moffat with a 161/129 score.

REMINDER;  The Summer tournament is coming up on July 22nd and July 29th.  Blyth is collecting $5 prize fund money. 

Comings and Goings

Hunter DeLange, our Golf Shop Assistant, is going to be leaving the end of August to attend a golf school in Chandler, Arizona.  He has been a great help to the Women's Club and we will miss him.  Our club has decided to give a gift of cash; therefore, Sandra will bring an envelope every Tuesday between now and the time he leaves for anyone who would like to contribute.  This is a gift, and if you would like to contribute, please bring your money on Tuesdays.

Also, Pam from the restaurant will be leaving on July 21st, so her last Tuesday will be next Tuesday the 15th.  We will be having a farewell cake for her after golf.

BIRTHDAY

Our Lynn Baker celebrated her birthday on Tuesday golf day May 20th.  Judy Mayfield kindly furnished a beautiful chocolate cake for all to share.

Upcoming Events

June will be a busy month!  June 3 is Ace of the Month, June 10 "Hate 'em", June 17 Super Drive. 

The big event  is the Eagle Point Women's Golf Invitational, our third annual Spring Swing. On June 24th will be the practice round with optional skins game, followed by a No Host BBQ and Auction with live music.  On June 25th will be the tournament, a 4 Person Scramble, shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. (KPs, Accuracy Drive, Vegas Hole, Putting Contest at turn) and luncheon following play with drawing prizes and awards.  Entry forms are available in the Pro Shop or on www.eaglepointgolf.com. 

Upcoming Events

April will finish with an Event called "Odd Holes" on 4/29.

For the month of May, first Tuesday (5/6) is Ace of the Month.  You can choose a partner to play with if you want.  On 5/13 we will play 3 Blind Mice.

On May 20 and May 27, will be our first major tournament of the year, the President's Cup. 

TEE TIME CHANGE

EFFECTIVE APRIL 15th, WE WILL BE STARTING AT 9:00 am.

2014 Kick Off Breakfast

The Eagle Point Women's Golf Club will kick off the new season March 4th at 8:00 am with breakfast and membership sign up to be held in the Talon Grill.  Breakfast of various types of quiche,sausage, fruit and pastry for $12 (tip included) will be followed by our first round of golf at 10:00.
