Membership 2013

Eagle Point Women's Golf Club would like to invite lady golfers to join us on Tuesdays.  This is a great group of women at all skill levels who come together for golfing and fun.  Membership Dues include golf activities from March through October, a GHIN number from the OGA, Hole-in-One Insurance, Eclectic Card and Birdie/Par Book Games.  

Applications are available in the Eagle Point Pro Shop, or by contacting Kris at 541-778-1789 or Dianne at 541-531-3837.

The dues for 2013 will be $55, or $40 in you have a GHIN # at another course.

EPWGC Christmas Party

Mark your calendar for the upcoming Christmas Party to be held Tuesday, December 11th, 11:30 a.m., at the home of Kaye Caulkins, 18 Greenmoor Drive, Eagle Point

In lieu of a gift exchange, the membership opted to support the Eagle Point Christmas House.  The Christmas House gives those in our community with limited resources the opportunity to participate in the Christmas experience.  People, mostly kids, can get gifts for their family members from items that are donated by the community.  They are looking for gift donations for all family members, so think of things a child might give to a parent or a grandparent or to a sibling.  In short, they are in need of gift donations for all ages.  PLEASE DON'T WRAP YOUR GIFTS.

NOW TO THE FOOD!  Let Kaye know what you would like to bring (finger food, salads, main dishes, vegetables, bread, or desserts.  Her email address is kayecaulkins@yahoo.com.

Points League

Since the official EPWGC season is over - the Points League will move to Tuesday - starting November 13th at 10:00.

LAST ROUND

The last official round of golf for the women's club is October 30th.  This will the team play with a two-person scramble, paying net scores only.  Choose your playing partner, and pick your foursomes too if you want, or Kaye will do it for you.

You must sign up by 4:00 pm on Monday, October 29!!!

INVITATIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEE

Judy Mayfield will be holding a planning committee meeting at her home on November 15 at 10:30.  Anyone interested in being on the committee let her know asap.

END OF YEAR LUNCHEON

End of the Year Luncheon will be held at the Red Lobster, Tuesday, November 6 at 12:30 pm.  Individuals can order from the menu and each person will be responsible for the cost of their lunch.  Red Lobster does not charge a corkage ee, so you can bring your own win if you choose.

Fall Tournament - October 9 and 16, 2012

NEW TEE TIME

Beginning October 9th (just in time for the Fall Tournament) the tee time will be 10:00.  Mark your calendars!

Fall Tournament

The last tournament of the year is the Fall Tournament being held on October 9 and October 16.  Cost is $5 per person.  Judy Tonn is the Chair and will be collecting the money.

The game will be a Chapman, both players tee off; each player then has to hit her partner's ball.  For the 3rd and successive shots, one ball is chosen and the players hit alternate shots (with that ball) into the hold.

New Local Rule for Hole #15

A new local rule has been added for Hole #15 in order to save time.  Once you hit a tee shot and there is doubt that the ball will be found, YOU MAY ANNOUNCE AND HIT A PROVISIONAL BALL.  Of course, if you find your original ball, you must play it.  This rule has been added to the blog under Local Rules.

1st Annual Spring Swing Invitational

Our first annual Eagle Point Women's Club Invitational SPRING SWING was a great success.  Practice round on Tuesday, June 26, with an optional skins game, and the main event on Wednesday, June 27 starting with a continental breakfast.  Lots of food, games, prizes, contests.  The weather cooperated and we had a beautiful, sunny day.  Look for more information as we collect and organize it - lots of pictures were taken.  Jan

2012 EPWGC Invitational

Bobbi is looking for some volunteers to help out (rake bunkers, act as spotters, and whatever else may be needed - so ladies enlist the aid of your husbands or significant others, or if you're not playing in the tournament maybe you can help.

AND, there will be a No Host Barbecue Tuesday evening after the practice round.  Judy Martin has agreed to ask her other band members to play for a short time.  The volunteers are welcome and encouraged to come.  Cost is $12 per person.

Thursday Points League - Net Match Play

On April 19th, the Points League will begin a Double Elimination Net Match Play Tournament.  Players will sign up prior to the 19th and be assigned matches for Thursdays.  If either of the matched players cannot play on Thursday, she may ask her assigned opponent to reschedule a match, prior to the following Thursday.  Cards will be popped.  The best net score wins the hole.  The player who wins the most holes wins the match.  Players who are out of the tournament, will follow the field and play side games for points.  Players who have a bye will play in the side game.  The length of the tournament will depend on the number of players who sign up.

Thursday Summer Points League 2012

This will be the 5th season for the summer points league.  Club membership is not necessary, so invite your friends.  Cost same as Tuesday play.  The $5 prize fund will be saved until the end of the season.  Prize money distributed based on points earned throughout the season.  End of season, money will be divided by total points earned by everyone and your prize money will be the number of points you earn times that amount.  Everyone will win some prize money.  The more you play, the more you win!!!

4 points for second gross and net
3 points for third gross and net
2 points for fourth gross and net
1 point for fifth gross and net
1 point for KP
1 point for chip in
1 point foul weathe
1 point for participating

Tee times will start at 10:00 with check in by 9:30.  Starting in May tee times move to 9:00.  Sign up sheets will be in the pro shop each week.  Call in if you have not signed up - we need to have an idea of how many are playing.  If you haven't called, and decided to play at the last minute, come on down and we'll get you in.

Brave Golfers 

The 2012 season began with a delicious breakfast in Arthur's.  Nineteen ladies showed up, but the snow started flying so only a few decided to play golf.  Lena ended up with first gross and Sandra Medaris first net for Ace of  the Month honors.  Go to epwgcwinners.blogspot.com for the game results.

KICK-OFF BREAKFAST - MARCH 6th

The 2012 golf season will begin on Tuesday, March 6th.  The Eagle Point Women's Golf Club would like to invite lady golfers to join us.  The membership fee for the 2012 season is $55 (includes $31 GHIN handicap and a 2012 USGA Rules of Golf).  Applications are available in the Pro Shop.

KICK-OFF BREAKFAST will be held at Arthur's on March 6 at 8:30 a.m., followed by our first round of golf (tee off at 10:00 a.m.).  Cost for the breakfast is $6.99 plus gratuity.  Please RSVP to Lynn Baker at 541-664-2481 or email her at lynn@ccountry.net if you plan to attend.
