10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY and UPCOMING SPRING SWING INVITATIONAL
Ten years ago there was not a women's golf league at Eagle Point, but in March of 2005, through the initiative of a handful of women in Eagle Point and a group who were facing the closure of the Cedar Links Golf Course in Medford, the EPWGC was organized. The club began with about 20 members and in this 2015 season the club has grown to more than 75 registered members!!!
EPWGC plays random formats on Tuesday's with a shotgun start at 9:00 am. We have just completed our first official tournament for 2015, which is the President's Cup.
Our signature event of the year is the Spring Swing Invitational that will be held on June 23rd and 24th this year. This year's theme is "Wine and Roses". Four person teams from around the region will have a practice round on Tuesday June 23rd followed by a Four Person Scramble on Wednesday the 24th. Lots of team and individual prizes; lunch at the Talon Grill, and drawings for baskets are just some of the fun activities scheduled. Any woman with a GHIN handicap can sign up to play and will be paired by the tournament committee with others to form a 4-person team. You do not have to be a member of the EPWGC to play in this event.
This is the 4th year for the Spring Swing Invitational. If you are interested in signing up for this tournament or if you want more information, contact Judy, Invitational Chairperson at jtonn2@gmail.com or visit the EPWGC website as listed below.
If you are just starting out or are a seasoned lady golfer you'll find a home with the EPWGC. For more information about our organization including our Calendar of Events, visit the Eagle Point Golf Course website at www.eaglepointgolf.com, go to the Clubs tab, and then select Women's.
